Wings of Hope Society and the Petra National Trust held a closing session of the #Petra_Visits_Amman project at Dirar Bin Al-Azwar School in Al-Weibdeh area, on Monday, November 22, 2021. The project, over a four- months period, targeted 241 participants within the local community in Al-Weibdeh area including women, local shop owners and professions, and male and female public school students.
The project aimed to promote the city of Petra within the local community of Jabal Al-Weibdeh area, to highlight its value and learn more about its culture and history. The sessions engaged different groups of the local community in various activities which aimed at raising their awareness of the importance of cultural heritage and its preservation. This project comes within the efforts of Petra National Trust and Wings of Hope Society to mitigate the repercussions of the Corona pandemic on local communities and promote the World Heritage Site of Petra.
