As part of the cultural and heritage programs organized by the Jordan Heritage  and Wings of Hope Society, a special evening was held in the presence of Mr. Ramzi Al-Maaytah, Director General of the Jordan Tourism Board, representing the Minister of Tourism, along with Mr. Ayman Omar, President of the Jordan Tourist Guides Association, and several members of the Association’s Board of Directors.

A number of Jordanian women working as tourist guides in Jordan were invited to speak about the profession and its importance to the tourism sector. The session was moderated by Ms. Noha Al-Mubaideen.

The evening brought together distinguished and pioneering female tourist guides, who shared their personal experiences, success stories, achievements, and challenges. They also presented their aspirations to the officials in attendance, calling for greater recognition of the role of Jordanian women in promoting tourism and presenting a positive image of Jordan—its history and heritage, customs and traditions, and the renowned hospitality of its people. As emphasized during the discussion, a tourist guide who loves her profession and her country is Jordan’s best ambassador.

The evening also explored opportunities to develop the profession and strengthen the role and presence of Jordanian women within it. Participants exchanged ideas and perspectives on ways to empower and equip more young Jordanian women to enter and contribute to this vital sector.

At the conclusion of the gathering, Mr. Ramzi Al-Maaytah and Mr. Ayman Omar delivered words of thanks and appreciation to the female tourist guides. They praised their dedication, sense of belonging, and passion for this important yet demanding profession, as well as the significant role women play in introducing Jordan’s rich history and heritage to visitors and showcasing the country’s vibrant cultural identity to people from around the world.
